Bike Buddies - Free cycle training and help with route planning
Cycling is a great way to help you keep healthy and almost anyone can do it.
If you’ve never learned, we can show you how, and if you’re already in the saddle but need help planning a local route from A to B, we can help with that too.
Our friendly trainers have helped cyclists of all ages take that first step into the saddle. Even the most nervous beginners will be surprised at how easily they can pick up the basics and start to pedal around under their own steam.
All cycle training sessions are free to those who live, work or are being educated in Rotherham, and include the use of a bike, if needed.
Group sessions
We have a choice of women-only training sessions and mixed training sessions. If you can’t ride a bike we can teach you, and if you’re already pedalling but need to build up your confidence you can join in one of our Cycle Confidence sessions. Bikes are provided at all of our sessions.
Our women-only sessions take place on Friday mornings and are led by female instructors in a traffic-free environment. To book please call 0114 399 1100 or email hello@journeymatters.co.uk.

One-to-One Bike Buddy sessions
Need help planning a route to work, or looking for a quiet route into town from your home? If so, then our Bike Buddy sessions are just for you.
The sessions are 90 minutes in duration and one of our qualified cycle trainers will meet you wherever you’d like the session to start from. This could be from your home, your place of work or another location of your choice. We can help you choose the best route for your journey and we’ll cycle it with you, giving you top traffic-taming tips along the way.
